I have to say, it’s been awhile since I’ve discovered such a great women’s sports blog as Pretty Tough. I came across the link as I searched through the BlogHer “Sports and Fitness” blogs category. I’m really glad that I did.
This blog provides comprehensive, up-to-date coverage of the female sports scene. Even though the blog does have advertising draped across the edges and the blogger’s transparency could be a bit more clear, it’s the content that catches my eye and makes me read through the posts with enthusiasm.
Based upon the MySpace profile and advertising of the books, I’d say the site is either run or significantly influenced by the book’s author, Liz Tigelaar.
Even if it is written by Tigelaar (or some sort of PR agency), the point is that the site provides great coverage of women’s sports. I hope more blogs will follow this type of content coverage – Lord knows we could use it. Thanks, Liz! Keep up the great work!
If I can get my hands on a copy of one of her books, I will be sure to read and blog about it.
Thanks for the link! Great site!
I’m curious to hear your thoughts on how to increase exposure and popularity in womens professional sports. When I turn on a WNBA or professional women’s soccer game it’s hard to find seats with people in them. Will mainstream sports fans every take to women’s professional sports in your opinion? I think it’s incredibly sad and ridiculous how poorly the women’s games are watched and attended at the professional level! When it comes to college games, it’s a completely different beast. Women’s sports in college seem to get much better attendance! Why? Thanks & look forward to your thoughts!
