I enjoy reading your posts.

Are you familiar with the MMA Conditioning Association and their MMA Conditioning Coach Certification?

I would like some other feedback.

From one female kicker to another, maybe Kacy could join a real women's football team when she turns 18. Here are links to two top leagues.

Aaron---

She's laughing because they know theyre sexist. You dont need to spend all of your time explaining it to them!! They LIKE it when girls get their way and boys get nothing!!

Snerdy ---
Why did you attach Aaron for saying discrimination is deserved when the whole discussions was them saying girls deserve to be treated better than boys??? He was the one from the beginning saying discrimination wasn't right!! Why didn't you call them out for that if you really read all of that?

Just to make another point about the article, the first attempt at a 'SI for Women' was in 1997, when two issues of 'Sports Illustrated Women's Sport' were published, the first of these featuring a pregant Sheryl Swoopes in her Comets uniform. Then it took 1998 off, and returned in 1999, not 2000, running until December 2002 as you said. For some reason the first two issues were never aknowledged on the 'SI for Women' website, although at least one article from one of them was included in a Best American Sportswriting volume for that year.

Although there have been several attempts at producing a women's sports magazine, 'Women's Sports' has to be the grandmother of them all lasting 24 years in total and effectively spanning eras. The trend is definately web rather than paper publishing though and and I can't see any of these titles making a comeback, however much some of us may want them.

I started to take 'Women's Sports' back in the eighties, just as it was becoming 'Women's Sports and Fitness', and I still miss that and would love to see it back. It had been started by Billie Jean King in 1974 and was regarded as the magazine of the Women's Sports Foundation, but it lost its way, in my opinion, and was evetually absorbed into Conde Nast's 'Sports for Women' in 1998. I enjoyed it more than 'SI for Women' personally, but the problem of a magazine covering women's sports, which some of us still want, remains. I wish the WSF would produce something these days but I suppose they have other priorities.

I just want to be clear, discrimination isn't right. I would not operate under stereotypes or remove rights because of an individual's gender as these women do.

These women can't expect to hide behind equal rights when they spend all this time advocating for discrimination. They deserve to be treated as they treat others - and yes for that segment of the population that would include discrimination.

Now, for people - especially the girls and their mothers- who believe in equal rights, then discrimination is wholly undeserved and amoral.

Do the schools spend that on PR or does ESPN, CBS, etc? In terms of what was spent on the teams, USAToday reported that women's basketball is the most expensive sport per player.

It's amoral to discriminate - which they do a lot of.

And since when does non-profit make someone moral? Fred Phelps and his band of loony anti-gay activists are non-profit too.

The only reason I brought up football was because as soon as anyone brings up a lack of funds, every women I've run into defers the discussion to "look how much is spent on football!!!" As a non-rev sport guy, I know it sucks, but it's the way it is because no one will come see a xc race like they'll go to football.

I'm for equal rights first and foremost. I want girls to have the same rights and support to play sports, but (and this is where I have a problem with the feminists) not carte blanch to control the rules in athletics and education. I'm actually pro women's sports. I just find it hard to believe they complain about when they play (MI, NY, NV) or that they their concession stands aren't as good as the ones the boys built for themselves - when many boys aren't even allowed to play sports.

As for the being deserved, it's because they set up the rules making it acceptable to discriminate. They can't claim it's ok to discriminate against the boys but then whine it happens to their daughters. What's good for the gander is good for the goose, no?

The fact is, she keeps writing how bad discrimination is and that we shouldn't stereotype, but then turns around and gives reasons as to why it's acceptable to do both.

All I'm doing is pointing out the facts and the hypocrisy of her sexism

Just to be clear Megan. The Tournament Owners Association had nothing to do with this. Nor did Title Sponsors of LPGA Tournaments, that would be difficult since neither one were consulted before this was announced to the players.

Thanks, Megan. I of course think the video is pretty cool; it's good to know others do also. But what is more, you've given Vicki Unus (and, consequently, the many other great female aerialists who came before and after her) recognition she well deserves.

@ Aaron

I was reading this interesting story, then reading the comments. I am confused by ALL of your rambling comments.
Just type if you're pro-women's sports, pro-co-ed sports, or are you anti-women's & co-ed sports?

"Tell your daughters to suck it up whenever anyone treats the differently because they are girls. I’m not saying it’s right, I’m saying it’s deserved."

* No discrimination is "DESERVED", Aaron. *

"Lay-off the drugs" ...ffs?
